Imagine going to a gender reveal party, and when they pop the balloon the smoke isn’t pink or blue, the smoke is black, and they scream with joy… “We had an abortion!”

Yeah, you shouldn’t joke about things like that.

That sounds hilarious… Just not IRL. Because making someone get attached to your hypothetical child is not ok

Nothing is off limits when it comes to comedy, but it has to actually be funny. And comedy does not justify hurting people

But as a skit? That sounds funny as hell

Indeed, I’ve never seen such a thing IRL, it really was more a stupid thought along the lines of a dark humor comedy skit.

It’s hilarious as a skit, imho.

We should totally bring back abortion rights and d unslave uteris havers lol.

People who don’t laugh can just enjoy having less trauma ig?

On the historical background of infant mortality, comercialized pregancy celebrations are kind of insane so…

Showers and potluck are great for supporting families, but the public breeding kink stuff is way overbaked…

I have like 3 friends who would both be happy for me having a kid, and also think this prank was funny if I did it to them.

        Top notch sick weirdos.

first responder here who has seen a lot and also has exhaustion and depression … yeah we joke about a lot that we “should not joke about.”

when i mention the 300lb guy on 3rd floor who died naked and covered in poo (his and animal) and how bogging it was to get him out … I’m gonna joke. cause it’s … helpful.

You should never joke about victims… In their presence

Joking about these things creates distance. That’s very hurtful to people close to the subject, and very helpful to people who need that distance.

It’s two sides of the same coin

There’s a difference, I feel. When you are the one in danger, you shouldn’t joke about it, since nobody else can tell if it’s meant to be a joke or if it’s meant to be serious.

If you are an observer, I think it’s still awkward to joke about it, but at least it’s clear that it’s meant to be a joke

yeah. dark humor is a thing and it helps. audience and context and timing are crucial but it helps. i might for instance joke with my crew or my therapist. but obviously never with the family, public, etc.

When your painter paints your portrait but you weren’t ready for it

1/2 second before this portrait was taken, he had a great smile on and looked really happy

The same kind of people like that, may have chance to speak in “morality issues and faithless behavior” over anything (literally)
