It is still an improvement as this makes it easier to bring in more people.

With that being said, I think it would’ve been better to use Forgejo.

The problem lies in the board and the company culture

They’ve gone though enough CEOs for me to suspect that there is a bigger issue.

Firefox was doomed decades ago

They had a lot of market share and then promptly lost it

Be careful doing that as you may very well be undoing security patches

While you are not wrong your dislike of Mozilla is has more to do with your instance being anti west. I’m not sure I’m ready to side with lemmyml

I wish I had telemetry

I’m sure they do as Mozilla is an ad company

Being Russian => banned from doing business with the rest of the world

I would strongly not recommend a raspberry pi

I don’t think many people use Vivaldi. Also it is mostly proprietary so that’s a hard pass for me.

What’s a backup?

Not really

They create 100 random things no one wanted and then offered then mostly for free. They have a massive management problem. I think the biggest issue is how risk adverse they are. They don’t want to take big risks so they instead take a bunch of small useful risks that fail. They need to start something and then commit. Also baking more things into Firefox is not the way forward. They need stuff that is separate and useful.

Selling products and services

They should find other ways to make money. There are so many different ways they could create value.

Also I’m not convinced that Mozilla would make much off of ads anyway as the ad space is very competitive
