I don’t know if this is still a thing, but a while back it was actually better to run the game on high settings even if your PC normally doesn’t handle high settings well. I don’t remember exactly why that was the case, but it worked.

As someone similarly unfamiliar with Linux I’ll say I just made the move as well a few weeks ago and haven’t had any issues so far! Ive even started playing with wine and lutris to get games working, with a little tweaking I was even able to drag the files of an already installed game from Windows over to Linux and then get lutris to run it. I was pretty surprised to see it worked lol

When I started at my current job I was “arguing” with a coworker about proving yourself. His mindset was “I’m not getting paid enough why should I give a shit?” while I was trying to convince him that you first prove you’re worth more and then go ask for it. If you get denied and they prove they don’t value you then that is when you take a step back and say ok fine I’ll just act my wage then.

I know not all companies value their employees but at this small factory I’ve been able to consistently get better raises instead of doing the bare minimum and not seeing another dollar for 5+ years like some of my coworkers.

This is a special kind of scummy. Typically you get a so-called “AAA” studio laying off people even after a really successful release that made them a lot of money.

In this case, it was successful, but their contract had a no royalties stipulation so they weren’t getting anything more based on the games success and yet apparently they pushed their employees really hard to go above the quality expectations, got what they wanted, and now fire them… This was about boosting the company name at the expense of the employees…
