Big tech IS the emerging oligarchy. Look to the south… We need to preserve our education—first and foremost.
I’m hoping we have a more critically educated population in Canada. I’m hoping our population understands what is at stake. I’m hoping the majority realizes our Canadian Charter of Rights and Freedoms is under attack.
Abrego Garcia was illegally abducted and wrongfully deported to El Salvador. Who knows what horrors that man is enduring?? This is the kind of injustice that is supposed to be protected under the Canadian Charter of Rights. Right? Right?? Well, not according to PP. He plans to strip Canadians of their rights. I don’t think Ford backed down. He said he would retaliate…then Trump changed his threat (backed down). Seriously, we don’t want a full on tariff war. Just because the Canadian government isn’t broadcasting: “WE JUST GOT A DEAL WITH BLAH, BLAH, BLAH”, “WE NOW ARE GOING TO DEAL WITH JOE BLOW!”, “WE ARE THE BEST!!!” This doesn’t mean we aren’t working on separating from the US, and working on other trade deals. Mark Carney is experienced and skilled in global economics. (He advised the UK against brexit). I am a firm believer in education and experience. Elbows Up! But don’t be too quick to invite a trade war.
The whole point of Trump threatening scariffs is a mind game to wear down Canada’s resolve. That won’t happen. He doesn’t need us? Apparently he does. He wants our water, and he wants our natural resources. Danielle Smith is obviously a traitor. So is PP. He’s just changed his rhetoric to garner votes.

Agreed. Our grandparents, and for some of us, parents, survived the great depression, WWI and WWII. Elbows up, buckle down, and stay strong together.
Unfortunately, there are many anti-Canadians in Canada. And they always seem to be the loudest and most aggressive, hateful people.
I agree 100%. There’s a whole lot of room for improvement. But I will tell you this: I dislocated and broke my arm because of a bad fall last year. I DID have a long wait in the emergency. But once the x-rays were done and I was seen by a surgeon, surgery was scheduled and performed very quickly. I’m retired and on a fixed income. If I had lived in the USA, I’m sure I would have lost my comfortable little bungalow townhouse.
Lack of education, and critical thinking, in the U.S. has been a HUGE problem for decades. More than half of people living in the United States between the ages of 16 and 74 read below a sixth-grade level. This is confirmed by Snopes. Trump is now attacking the universities. You can’t make educated decisions when you can’t read. Don’t let this happen in Canada!
