    Divide price by volume. Some grocery stores even do it for you in small print on the shelf label, look for the little (example) $1.27 / 100g. Note some things are in kg, just move the decimal point (gotta love metric).

    Be wary of low volume units, they are usually worse value than the equivalent product in a larger volume. It can get pretty crazy, I’ve seen things twice, three times as expensive in some cases, like $8 for 100g versus $12 for 400g.
