I think this is a great idea. A professional accreditation that is managed by journalists would definitely help with preventing misinformation and disinformation. Require certain number of years working under a professional journalist and an ethics exam (similar to PEng) to be a “Professional journalist”. Then government can legislate rules at the recommendation of this body around whether an organization can be called a “news organization” and is protected by freedom of the press laws. This way the managing body can strip people of their professional accreditation for peddling misinformation and disinformation and general journalistic malpractice.

I don’t personally blame immigration for the issues we see today and there is a compelling argument that immigration could help us out of these problems, but it really does require adequate government investment in the sectors that need labour (like healthcare)

I haven’t tried it yet but the concept just seems a lot more intuitive in a way that systems like NixOS and Guix SD arent. I haven’t tried those either though so maybe I’m just ignorant 🤷

You are misreading the very poorly captioned table. The percentages are showing a comparison of the rent of co-ops and market rent against the average in the same category of the five cities in the study. So co-ops are being compared against the co-op average. It’s just to show that rent prices of co-ops and market rentals are similarly affected by the markets in the respective cities.
