

Nintendo doesn’t really “dry” their IPs. They actually innovate between games, making sure each installment is worthy of existing. They don’t just slap a new number on the same content as last time, like the EAs, Ubisofts and Actiblizzards of the industry.
That’s why they’ve lasted. A game featuring Mario or Link isn’t so much a familiar IP, as it has become a seal of quality.
Doesn’t mean they aren’t guilty of a bunch of other anti-consumer bullshit.
Gamefreak needs a fire lit under their ass.
One they can’t put out by litigating it to shreds.
