Typical conservative MO. When things are going my way it’s all about how great I am and everyone else is useless. When things aren’t going my way, it’s all about how everyone is getting in the way and we all need to work together to achieve my goals.

Alberta separatism is even stupider. If they think getting a pipeline is hard now, imagine having to cross international borders. Even if they went south through the USA there will still be complications.

This is so stupid! I made use of this a couple years ago to replace some windows and install solar panels. This resulted in more than a dozen people coming to my home over several months doing various bits of work. Presumably they were all getting paid.

This wasn’t free money and I do have to pay it all back. I would not have done the project otherwise. It made sense to me that at 0% I do get a slight discount taking inflation into account, but it was a good chunk of money injected into the economy now that was paid to Canadians. And, a bunch of that is going to make it back to the government in the form of income tax.

I don’t understand why they’d cancel the program other than the government caving to conservative morons who bitch about spending and don’t understand economics.

As a Canadian I am going to say this as politely as I can: “Get fucked!”

Not only am I boycotting because of the threat of war and tariffs, but when it comes to food I just don’t trust what’s coming from the US. With them continuing to remove regulations, and RFK being a crazy person, who the hell knows what’s going to end up in the food.

It’s difficult to know if a business you frequent uses Microsoft, but I suppose you can always ask.

But, as an individual you can choose to avoid MS. Linux is really good these days and Libre Office will do most of what you need. It may not be identical to the MS experience, but you do have a choice.

I also support investing in jobs, infrastructure, and pragmatic environmental policy. That means giving oil companies the boot and investing heavily in renewables and all the trades people that will make it happen. But I’m sure the BCA has different ideas.
