One of them told me that they learned that the price you pay a hospital is paid by insurance and that the price you actually pay is a lot lower. So they’re not bothered. Like, seriously.

I didn’t know I had this many walking amongst me. Of the ones I’ve spoken with they seem to share these values:
They seem to hate that Ontario is forcing “gays” on kids at such a young age. I’m assuming my friend meant teaching about accepting people from different backgrounds, as I don’t think sex education applied to the age range he was referring.
They think they’re being taxed too highly (that’s fine).
They think US Healthcare woes are exaggerated. One said that you don’t really pay that fee, it’s a different fee and it’s not that much. Another said: I don’t go to the hospital that often.
They think life will be better in the States with all the untaxed dollars they’ll have.
(I will reiterate that these are just the ones that I’ve spoken with) I’m just wondering why they don’t just move there. If you hate being Canadian so much start the process of emigration …
His inability to answer the questions is infuriating.
Yes! That’s what confuses me. I’m voting Liberal because there’s no real proportional representation (yet 🤞) and we need to keep Pierre out of office.
However, when I speak to Conservative voters and I ask them why … they’re describing the NDP platform and I’m so confused.
Yeah about the same. I still feel like we should be voting regardless.
I always had an opinion of, if I don’t vote (as a bare minimum) I can’t complain about the outcome. I am considering maybe being more politically active or involved lately though.
Feels like what Brexit was like when I was living in London, UK.
I’d like to start by saying that I agree with both of you guys.
However like, I remember listening to JRE back in the day (yes, I hate him and don’t listen to him anymore) and he brought up electronic voting.
I’m paraphrasing his show but he brought up things like
I would really like to be able to just get a phone notification and “bing” vote, but yeah, there’s so many issues with electronic voting like you said.
My coworker was like, “in your working life you work like 40 years, you probably pay $2 million in taxes. Do you think you’re getting your moneys worth? In Canada, you are not incentivised to work, sitting at home you can make more money than working”
I had to swing the conversation back to like, how about we tax the rich instead of attacking each other. I didn’t realize how many of my coworkers were right-wing. There were more of them in tech than I thought.
Yeah, mine was about 45 minutes.
Same as you, I was annoyed but at the same time I felt happy that a lot of people were voting.
The Internet is quite segregated sometimes. I have a friend who is an “influencer” and sometimes brags to me about another influencer they’ve met up with. I’m like,
“sorry I’ve never heard of them”
“but they’ve had X number of followers and were really big on YouTube!”
“…” 🤷♂️
lol, I think it was more in the vein of: “watch me” rather than “charge your watch”
Is it a dangling modifier? I have no idea, I was never really good at grammar or whatever this is.
ban it in Canada … for crying out loud. We can’t keep losing democracy thanks to big tech.
I’m pretty sure more people look at these ads than watched TV political ads and I think they had more restrictions that these ever did.
I’m seeing a lot of Conservative signs around me. I’m getting prepared for an upset to be honest. I’m voting against PP but like … I’m so sad about the world right now.
Yeah, I absolutely agree with that. I haven’t upped my Loblaws budget after quitting Walmart. I’ve been going to more local shops and stuff. I have been paying more, but I’ve been attributing it to the higher quality goods/services.
Also, even besides all of this US “hatred” stuff. In general, we should be shopping local for the environment and to support smaller and local businesses.
No, those penguins have been taking advantage of US trade for too long!
Talked to a few of my friend’s kids. They all think Musk is a genius.
I see Andrew Tate victims in all of them.
I’m confused by this article a bit.
Couldn’t they compromise on having underground parking for that building? I wonder if it’s like, well if we have SO many people then the local parking is going to be flooded too. Although, if it’s that local would they even drive?
Maybe it’s not feasible to do underground parking in which case it would take up spots all around, which I half get. Car-based towns and stuff have really done a number on us.
First thing I did when I bought mine was to open up my Steam Deck and put in a new hard drive.
Most difficult thing was some of the screws felt over-tightened.
That was about it to be honest. I also heard the battery glue is really strong so I’m not looking forward to that in the future for me.
