I think something everyone forgets is, if we had human based foreign intelligence services, if they were good at their jobs, we would never know.

We also have multiple agencies, not just CSIS that conducts intelligence operations. CSE and CFINTCOM come to mind, as well as others. In fact, CFINTCOM specifically calls this out on their Canada.ca page; “strategic, operational and tactical human intelligence resources”

Facebook is being flooded with deepfake news reports about Mark Carney

At this point, if my own mother posted a Happy Birthday message to me on Facebook, I would want to double check my birth certificate to verify it.

I can confirm that for the first time ever, I got dinged in what I can only assume was an AI for posting threats of violence. What I said was the subject should turn upside down so the blood could rush to her brain and she could have a rational thought.

I’m a hardcore meat eater, and TBH, I would rather eat a vegetable, than something ultra-processed and vegetable adjacent.

I always eat organic. I don’t digest rocks, plastics or metals very well.

I have been an NDP member for over 20 years. I have always voted my conscience. This will be the first time since the 90s i have voted for the liberal party.

Why?

Because this election is too important. If we allow Poilievre to form government, our country could very likely fall completely under his watch.

Let’s be completely clear. If you want to vote in 5 years in a CANADIAN election, there isn’t even 2 choices, there is only 1.

Singh knew the danger of Poilievre, which is why he propped up the Liberals for 3 years.

We are at war. It may be a war of economics, but it’s still a war. And when you are at war, you want your most experienced and equipped soldier in charge. Right now, today… that is Carney.

I hate FPTP, and I have been angry at Trudeau for a decade for breaking his promise of reform… but the barbarians are at the gate. We as Canadians, for this election, need to not let perfect be the enemy of survival.

Carney is not the perfect leader, but he’s the best option by far to keep the barbarians out because Poilievre will happily open the gates for them.

Also, a big part of why the NDP is losing ground is a completely uninspiring leader. Today would be a different conversation if Angus, who was my vote for leadership, had won in 2017. But here we are…

I had the same issue. I finally told my family if being in contact with me is important to them, they needed to be willing to use another tool.

I posted a message saying it was being deleted and provided alternative contact methods. Bumped it a couple of times and deleted it.

The end result is i found out who really cared about me, and i have fewer toxic people in my life.

Mark Carney has been Prime Minister for almost 2 weeks, and parliament is not in session. Had Trudeau called back parliament, the Conservatives would have forced an election and we would be right back where we are now.

Ask them if they are offended that Cyprus is in the EU, even though it’s in Asia. Or ask if it’s OK that Turkey may be joining.

Some people just like to argue, and if they are really butthurt “because the name”, then they probably aren’t worth debating the point. It’s a name that already encompasses countries that are not in Europe.
