If Linux gets popular the mega corps will just follow them there and then you’ll be asking them to uninstall Dell os or at least remove the Linux recall (powered by bing) that it comes bundled with. Just look at the modern state of android.

That might make immigrants (and people) in general leave less, but I don’t see how that would make high skilled immmigrants leave less than low skill immigrants, which is what the report is measuring.

Highly educated and skilled immigrants are the most likely to leave Canada within five years of landing, according to a new report commissioned by the Institute for Canadian Citizenship (ICC).
Isn’t it sort of obvious that the immigrants who are most desirable are most likely to move around? I don’t see that as a solvable problem and while I can’t find numbers I’m pretty skeptical that other developed countries look any different but I wasn’t able to find comparable stats.

I think valve has the absolute worst skins market out there but their store is really good.

Its funny because a bronze psu is losing you money in the long run if you are actually using your pc.
I watched my local college lose all its credibility as a result of running borderline scams for foreign students. My old university otoh has been rather smart about not becoming too dependent on foriegn student tuition. I love immigration, and especially think exporting our education is a good thing, but the way these programs have been run in recent years is a cancer on these institutions and pure short term thinking. I’d rather see reform, but this is almost as good.

I never liked the invincible bridge gates, it’s really really cool to see this update and get some real combat besides the clowns.
I haven’t played much since the big steam release, is dwarf therapist still defacto required? Any tips on getting back into it?

This is just saber rattling. The ndp are too broke and disorganized for an election right now.
Can you imagine how great it would be if every class of item had to come in the same container. It would make reuse of those packages viable which would be way better than recycling ever could.
Plastic recycling really sucks, but paper recycling is usually a net positive and compost is such a no brainer I’m always shocked it isn’t everywhere.

The monarchy stops things like Jan6th from happening, probably would have limited the whole hanging chads thing as well. They (via the GG) have peacefully resolved the 2008 constitutional crisis as a canadian example. The monarchs power and money is tied to exactly one thing, the current political system continuing, that is their only power and it aligns with their incentives. I don’t like the monarchs, but I like constitutional monarchies and I don’t see a good way of setting up a new head of state that isn’t elected (and thus corruptible). Perhaps a Native leader of some kind.

How would you like it to go? This is how it is meant to go, politicians announce a goal and a vague direction they want to go in, then table bills with the details filled out, it undergoes several layers of public debate and then it gets voted on.

The details of how it gets accomplished are being released in early November with the budget.
MECA?

It’s net loss in 2024 of ~800million which isn’t even a single billion. I think 20bucks a year on canada post is pretty reasonable.
E: Oh and most of that loss can be attributed to the previous strike.

Yeah but thats the perfect time imo. Better to do it now while there is no value than if it gets big and ca users have to abandon a community they may have been participating in (not every community is necessarily related to the main theme of the instance)
The most credible source I find credits it to an article by German satirist and journalist, Kurt tucholsky who was supposedly quoting a French diplomat in 1925
