2 days agoI get the concern 🙂 One of the motivations behind the project is actually that these systems already exist everywhere, but most of them are closed and opaque.
Making the platform open-source means the code can be audited, modified, or self-hosted instead of trusting proprietary black boxes.
Fair point. In our system face and license plate recognition are optional modules — the platform works as a normal intercom / CCTV system without them.
Making it open source and self-hosted also means operators can control exactly what features they enable and how data is handled.
