It doesn’t matter if he reverses tariffs. The bridge has been burned… and the temporary bridge we built out of grace has also been burned.
We’re putting all our bridge materials from here on out towards Europe.

I think the bigger issue is that if a party gains majority it tends to sour on passing PR. Not to get all depressing up in here but in BC the NDP rode to power on promises of PR, held a sabotaged referendum, and never brought it up again.

Eh… eh… eh…
The Liberals deserve a good portion of that blame - especially w.r.t. grocery chains which only got a slap on the wrists after the bread price fixing scheme.
It’s not like the CPC would have done anything differently had they been in charge (both parties are deeply neoliberal) but the NDP, Greens or BQ likely would’ve responded much stronger.

Good. Don’t subsidize terrorism.

Heli-skiing is a pursuit for those with more money than sense. It’s unfortunate that people have lost their lives but I really don’t have much sympathy left in the tank for the rich.
That may be a more reasonable and targeted approach. I am mainly suggesting this from a place of concern about US interference in our upcoming election.
It may be easier to have a specific list of banned outlets.

Will we be restricting the posting of links to foreign owned media?
Yup, let’s not pull a Germany.
I like where your heads at but we really need to hound them for the next two months.
I heard Christy Clarke is looking for work - she’s essentially a moderate conservative.
I’ve yet to see any news of him openly supporting PR outside of a PR friendly minister - did I miss an announcement?
The long term warning is that if the LPC wins a majority and fails to reasonably address housing or general living costs we’ll be back in this same position next cycle.
My hope is for a minority LPC government with either BQ or NDP forcing them away from neoliberalism - if that fails it’s a long shot that Carney will turn his back on neoliberal economics… but Canada (and the world really) are at the breaking point from neoliberalism and we’ll either gracefully correct or fall closer to authoritarianism and violence.
We need change - and we only have so many chances before a fucker like PP wins an election based on economic discontent and fucks us forever.
Edit: Just to be super clear - fuck the conservatives. I in no way desire them to end up in government and my statement comes from a place of rejecting anti-trans hate and embracing a sane environmental response to climate change.

To be fair to modern young people… we had the luxury of not being inundated with Jordan Peterson and Tate bullshit when we were at our most impressionable.
I’ve seen extremely strong and wise young people - and I’ve seen fucking idiots. I think the proportion of idiots is higher than it was for, say, millennials… but it’s still a mixed bag and we’ve got young people rabid about environmentalism and women’s rights. Maybe in a few more years that toxic bro faction will start growing out of it and become reasonable people - I certainly hope so.

Rachel Notley needs an awful lot of secret weapons to make up for being Rachel Notley. It’d be nice if the Alberta NDP had an actually exciting leader.

I think that’s extremely reasonable. I’d love to have MMR or another form of PR but sadly we do not have that. It’s extremely reasonable to vote strategically to keep the CPC out of power. I live in BC and my district is competitive for the LPC and NDP so I’m sure as fuck not voting LPC… but if I were in the interior I’d definitely vote for whoever had more momentum to beat the CPC candidate.
On that note… this is a time to make your voice heard advocating for voting reform to make sure the CPC never threaten a national victory without seriously reforming their platform.

No, we don’t and have never needed a majority government. A coalition of LPC, NDP, and BQ would be able to nimbly respond to American threats (because we’re all in agreement on that) while preventing a further slide into neoliberalism in the housing market.
If the Liberals gain a majority government and don’t hard pivot away from neoliberalism the CPC will be an insurmountable threat next election.
The NDP and BQ are in strong alignment in opposing American expansionism. We can do better than a Liberal majority.

Yup, everyone should be acting within their means and not going into debt supporting domestic businesses.
Senility and specialty.
People get old and their brains break - it happens to us all.
People who are good at a thing are considered to be good - which they aren’t necessarily. Someone who is good at hockey or while being managed by a PR team isn’t necessarily a good chef or a good woodworker… this might sound obvious in those cases but people constantly make this mistake when it comes to politics.
