Originally I thought they were just shitty trucks because I had thought they were the size of a Ford Fiesta until I saw one IRL. Most pictures and videos I had seen of them had nothing next to them to show the true scale.

I’d love a truck the size of a Ford fiesta. Can’t wait till the telo truck comes out next year.

looking forward to the telo as well, finally something that’s compact like my old element but still can haul some plywood

            re: the telo -

one, it’s not oversized. it’s compact. literally the same footprint as a mini cooper.

two, it’s not overpowered to satisfy some douche.

three, it can actually hold a sheet of plywood flat. the cyber truck, being way, way larger, can’t even do that.

four: the owners don’t seem like outright fascist misogynists’.

SO nah, kinda feel there’s a wildly different vibe.

Nah, i think it looks like a kei truck mixed with a high efficiency aero EV, with the approach angle of a jeep.

            Ok maybe a little silly.

But they’re filling the small truck niche that hasn’t seen an entrant (in the USA) in quite some time, so I’ll give them some leeway on the aesthetics.

You couldn’t do plywood in the element? I wasn’t shopping when that was around, but I guess I figured those could do it internally.

The Ford Mavericks and the Hyundai Santa Cruz will get you close (but def. not fiesta dimensions). Drove an F-150 for years. I’d do a proper “ute” if they were available but there are finally some tiny “pickups” out there. There’s tradeoffs, and I miss my F-150 for a lot, but not enough.

I’d probably own a maverick if they made a plug-in hybrid version. The 2025 model finally added AWD to the 2.4L hybrid, but they also deleted 90% of the buttons on the dash in favor of a bigger touch screen. *And it’s still a little too big

oh nice! I didn’t see they did AWD. But yeah, it turns out even “small” US pickups are still large. Not a fan of the button delete, I’ll have to look into that. I’m pretty happy in my 2022 SC, but I’ve made some mods. What I miss about proper “utes” is the cab over engine design and big cabs. I do love my SC but as a taller dude, I fit better in my F-150
